On a Mission to Entertain the World and Transform Medical Education
The way we train doctors is broken. J. T. Madicus experienced the flaws in the system first hand as a medical student in three different countries. Since then, he has spent years traveling the world, writing books, delivering lectures, and speaking to the doctors of tomorrow about how medical education needs to change.
J. T. Madicus was first driven to medicine through a passion for learning and a strong belief that the medical sciences can be fun. Despite the best efforts of his professors to stamp the joy out of medical education, he persevered in this belief. He started creating entertaining YouTube lectures under the name Future Doc House. His videos made complex medical subjects like microbiology fun to learn about and easy to understand. They took off.
Thousands of medical students from around the world started turning to J. T. Madicus to help them better understand their lessons and recapture the joy and curiosity that drove them to study medicine in the first place.
J. T. Madicus doubled down on his mission and decided to harness modern technology to improve the student experience. He teamed up with a group of European and international entrepreneurs to create QUPI, the world’s largest medical question bank. This lead to a series of lecture tours across the United Kingdom, and span off into the QUPI Legacy Foundation which advocates for policy level change, as explained in J. T’s first book, Is There a Doctor Aboard? An Urgent Call for Change in Medical Education and Government Policy.
Taking Medical Education From the Classroom to the Big Screen
What made J. T. ‘s YouTube videos so popular was a flair for storytelling and a charismatic delivery. J. T. channeled this into a novel, Final Diagnosis: No Second Chances that embeds real life medical lessons within a gripping plot with a flavor of action and espionage. The novel received rave reviews, and is now being transformed into the No Second Chances TV Series!
For anyone who loves a medical thriller but is frustrated with the lazy, inaccurate science they tend to use, or for someone who craves an intelligent, face paced psychological thriller, keep your eyes peeled for No Second Chances!
